They’re building the first 3D printed house in Amsterdam and a company in China built 10 in one day and they only cost $5000 each!

Read the article here.

They used waste materials from the construction industry mixed with concrete and 3D printed a wall at a time then assembled the building. It’s really interesting stuff, even though the implications for the construction industry aren’t clear.

I don’t think you should start getting scared just yet but I’d definitely be keeping an eye on this technology if I were you. Like with any disruptive technology, there will be winners and losers and winner sounds much more fun. Let’s all look for how 3D printing can help you.

For now, I see cheaper in terms of materials (making concrete from waste), and house components being built on site reducing transport costs.

It’ll be interesting, won’t it?
