Tradie Marketing vs Business Coach Marketing

You’re a tradie, I’m a business coach. We do our marketing differently. I do what’s called content marketing and relationship marketing – I give up some of my knowledge and strategies to you so you can see that I know some useful things and build some trust between us so that when I invite you to attend my webinar (for example) it comes as something you might find useful instead of just noise. If I don’t do that, you’ll ignore my marketing, probably.
In some ways I’m also trying to develop the need for my services – I know you’ve got the frustrations I talk about but not so many of you are out there searching for a business coach for tradies. So I talk about those frustrations you have and how I can help you with them through my coaching.

(Warning – some marketing is coming your way before too long).

It doesn’t work that way for you does it – can’t build 10% of a fence to show what a good job you do and hope your customer decides to get you to do the rest of it? Or unblock part of a drain…..

Trades business marketing is different – everyone know what you do and we know when we have a need for you – head contractors and developers know and consumers know too. So your marketing is less about developing the need for your services than it is about being the one who gets the call when the need arrives.

I hope this is making sense because I think it’s very important. Don’t waste your time and money on content marketing or even on your social media profile.

Your marketing needs to be locality-based and needs to be about helping people find you instead of finding someone else.

So is your business easy for people to find? For consumers and for your construction industry targets? When they need your trade, is your business top of mind.

That’s what your marketing needs to do.
