Pricing – A quote to help you get your head around it
Pricing is something that many small business owners struggle with. They often assume that, to win the business, they have to be cheaper than their competition. This is not necessarily the case! People buy from people – people that they know, like and trust. Price is rarely the primary consideration (it is important but not the most important criterion).
An IBM software salesman once said:
“If you’re not at least a little bit embarassed by your price, you are too cheap!”
I’ve no idea who said it – someone told it to me in a pub or somewhere and I stole it shamelessly. But it’s good isn’t it?
